Interview Klaus E. Müller - childhood and youth

This conversation with Professor em. Klaus E. Müller took place on March 31, 2009 at his home in Kelsterbach.

Growing up during the war years in Germany, Prof. Müller takes up the study of opera direction at the Bavarian State Opera as well as the study of dramatics, German philology and philosophy at Munich University. It is Hermann Baumann's book "Der Mythos in ethnologischer Sicht" which eventually leads him to the field of anthropology. Prof. Müller tells us about his teaching years in Frankfurt (Main) and Mainz, about his strongly interdisciplinary work at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZIF) in Bielefeld and the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities (KWI) in Essen as well as about the developments in the discipline over time.
