Hans Eckensberger

Hans Eckensberger (* 16. März 1897 in Leipzig; † 13. Januar 1966 in Brunswick) was not an anthropologist himself, but he was a member of the GAA for many years (from 1947 to 1965 he served as treasurer). Eckensberger was newspaper editor. In the Nazi years, he was married to a jewish partner. As one of the first germans he was allowed to run a newspaper by the British Forces in Germany. He ran the Brauschweiger Zeitung until his death in 1966. Until the 1960s, the anthropological journal Zeitschift für Ethnologie was published by Eckensbergers Publishing House Albert Limbach.
